I remember growing up and watching action cartoons like He-Man and GI Joe. When putting a title on this blog, though, one thing sticks out in my memory: “Knowing is half the battle.” This quote comes from GI Joe and for others like me who grew up and internalized this way of thinking, we’ve been duped. It’s a lie. Knowing isn’t half the battle. Knowing is the battle.
We go through life trying different things, trying to see what works for us and what doesn’t. This sends us on a whirlwind ride of trying to figure out who we are. Instead of trying to figure it out, we just need to be who we are.
After almost thirty-three years, I finally figured it out. Here’s my testimony I had the privilege to share in front of my church during an offering message on May 18, 2014. I hope it inspires you to know who you are, what your called to do, and to know that with God’s help, you can do it.
