Live Easier After Pregnancy

newbornHaving a baby is one of the most exciting things in a young couples’ life. After the birth of your bundle of joy, everything changes.

When Josiah was born, I made a commitment to my wife to make her transition from pregnancy to nonpregnancy a little easier. A mom’s job is very demanding especially in those first critical weeks. From breast feeding to changing diapers and finding time to sleep, it’s not an easy task. If you’re a mom, you know what I’m talking about.

Newborn babies need to be fed every three hours. I remember the challenge my wife faced. She once said she felt exhausted because as soon as she’d stop breast feeding, she would have to pump, and by the time she was finished with that, it seemed like it was time to feed him again.

Just so she could get some rest, I agreed to feed Josiah on the late shift. I only had two weeks off work to help, but it would have been better to take six weeks off because I wasn’t getting the sleep I was used to. There’s nothing like going to work feeling like you didn’t sleep at all.

We live in an apartment where pets are not allowed. I can’t even begin to imagine what my life would have been like if I had a dog to care for in addition to the baby.

If you’re a pet parent, you know it’s hard work trying to help your companion animal adjust to a new baby. Just as we humans experience stress and sleepless nights, our dogs go through their own stress.

With everything you do, there’s a certain chore that you might neglect when bringing home a newborn. Scooping the dog poop.

You might feel as though you don’t have the time or energy to do it and that it’s not really that important. The truth is, with a newborn, it’s even more important to clean up after the dog.

Babies’ immune systems are not as strong as adults. Because of this, you must take great care to wash your hands to ensure you are not exposing your baby to any pathogens. If you let your dog run around in a yard full of dog waste, there’s a good chance he will track in pathogens on his feet and fur. Yikes!

As a new parent, you’re busy. We get that. We can help make your life a little easier by scooping the dog poop.
